SunCable is developing a large-scale renewable energy precinct in the Barkly Region of the Northern Territory, delivering low-cost, firmed electricity for industrial customers in Northern Australia and Southeast Asia. As the project progresses through development and towards construction, we are working to understand local and Territory business capability ahead of major works commencing.

Where we're at
‍

The project has secured Major Project Status, principal environmental approvals and a 70-year Indigenous Land Use Agreement with the Traditional Owners of Powell Creek. We are now progressing towards construction readiness and will utilise the SunCable ICN-NT Gateway page to communicate project information and opportunities.

Procurement and contracting opportunities

SunCable has established a Gateway page with ICN-NT to support our procurement activities. Businesses interested in procurement and contracting opportunities are encouraged to register on the SunCable ICN NT Gateway.

Our commitment to local and Indigenous participation
‍

The project will have a Territory Benefits Plan and meet Australian Industry Participation requirements — giving Australian and NT businesses full, fair and reasonable access to contract and supply, with additional measures to optimise Territory and Aboriginal participation. SunCable has spent over $35M in the Territory supporting the project's milestones to date and has a locally based workforce.
